Brand New Up-Cycled Aprons!

So I finally accomplished the reason I started the Blog in the first place!

Drumroll Please.....

My first Up-cycled Apron!
I'm So Excited!!!

This is a picture of my very first up-cycled apron.  It started as a sweet little sundress from my local Goodwill, and became a sweet little Baby Apron!

This one has the most adorable bunny ears at the buttons on the straps.  I couldn't resist when I saw at, even though it is a newborn size.  Newborns can wear apron too, right...

The next one started as a girly ruffled skirt like this...

...and became a Denim and Ruffled Apron with extra long pink satin ribbon ties that wrap around to the front to show off a pretty bow.

The next two started off like this...

and this...(sew retro huh!)

...and became a Denim Toddler Apron with embroidered flowers and a retro strip at the bottom of the skirt and retro fabric ties.

...and a Denim Skirt Apron With Retro Fabric Top.  It has pink straps with groovy big green buttons.
I also still have the back of the retro dress to make another apron!

I'm so excited to share my new passion with all of you!

If I can reach a total of 800 page views on my Blog, and gain ten more followers either through Google friend connect or Networked Blogs followers, I will give away one of my aprons!
So please join in the fun and share with your friends!

Thank you for spending some time with me!

Gotta go get some more use out of my seam ripper!

Love...  Ellie

Father's Day Fun at Fiddlesticks

Happy Father's Day Todd!

My son, Sean made this Lego replica of his Dad for Father's Day!  What an artist he is!  Such imagination!

Father's Day Fun!

This Father's Day, my Husband decided to have some extra special fun with the kids by taking the family to Fiddlesticks Family Fun Park.

http://fiddlesticksaz.com/

We started with the boys heading to the bumper cars, while I took Emma on the Dragon ride.  As you can see, she loved it!

Next for Emma was the train roller coaster where the conductor made her go forwards and backwards several times.  She was smiles the whole time!

We all headed over to the bumper boats and started the soaking!  I amazingly didn't mind getting so wet because it kept me cool in the AZ heat.

Feeling refreshed from the water, we decided to tackle the miniature golf course.  This was Emma's first time trying her hand at golfing and Daddy did a great job helping her learn the ropes of holding the club and lining up her shot.  She was so proud when she got a hole in one, the first one of the day!

We finished off on the bumper cars again and Emma actually got to drive her very own car on the little track where she burned rubber and only hit the railing once!  Great job Emma!
To my husband Todd, you are the Most Amazing Father to our children and a Wonderful Husband to boot!  I love you!

Prayer from my Aunt nancy

Prayer of Peace
I offer this prayer of peace
Not to the Christian God
Nor to the Buddhist God
Nor to the Islamic God
Nor to the Jewish God
But to the God of all humanity.
For the peace that we wish for
Is Not a Christian peace
Nor a Buddhist peace
Nor an Islamic peace
Nor a Jewish peace
But a human peace
For all of us.
I offer this prayer of peace
To the God that lives within all of us
That fills us with happiness and joy
To make us whole
And help us understand life
As an expression of love for all human beings.
For no religion can be better
Than any other religion
For no truth can be truer
Than any other truth
For no nation can be bigger
Than the earth itself.
Help us all go beyond
Our small limits
And realize that we are one
That we are all from the earth.
That we are all earth people
Before we are Indians, Koreans, or Americans.
God made the earth
We humans have to make it prosper
By realizing that we are of the earth
And not of any nation, race, or religion,
By knowing that we are truly one
In our spiritual heritage.
Let us now apologize
To all humanity
For the hurt that religions have caused,
So that we can heal the hurt
Let us now promise to one another
To go beyond egotism and competition
To come together as one in God.
I offer this prayer of peace
To you the almighty God
To help us find you within all of us
So that we may stand proudly one day before you
As one humanity.
I offer this prayer of peace
With all my fellow earth people
For a lasting peace on earth.

Quilt Top finished!

My newest, Baby Boy, quilt top is finished!  I can't believe I was able to make the whole top out of what I had in my stash!  I think the patriotic colors are so fitting for our times right now.  Most of the strips were already cut and mostly pieced, so I just had to put it all together on my design wall and add the sashing.  There is a very sweet gal out in California getting ready to have a baby that will be getting a big surprise in the mail soon!  I am heading out to Cutting Edge Quilt Shop on Saturday for their Quilters Night Out from 6:00pm to midnight to pick out the backing!  I am so excited to see the quilt sandwiched and ready to quilt. Maybe I'll even splurge to have the shop put it in the long arm to quilt, as there is no waiting list right now!

If you want to join a great bunch of quilters for food, fun and sewing, head out to downtown Chandler to http://cuttingedgequiltworks.com/ for Quilters Night Out!  Call the shop to let them know you're coming!  480-857-3443
I'll see you there!
